COVID-19 has had an impact on so many areas of business and background checks are no exception. Here is what is possible and what’s not, what we are doing and what we just don’t know.
High school graduation verifications.
This is something we do for many of our clients, and Covid-19 has presented some definite challenges.
Schools across the country generally are closed for the 2019-2020 school year. Hopefully they will be re-open in the Fall, but we just don’t know. What we do know—if the registrars aren’t there to answer the phones, we can’t get any information out and graduation records are generally resident at the schools, not at the district level.
We still try. We make phone calls, leave messages, send faxes and emails, reach out through our third-party sources like Parchment, NeedMyTranscript, etc. Our bottom line is “when we get a response, we will update the report.”
The reality: Clients will need to make hiring decisions without this piece of information. If we are looking at a five-month hiatus, you will need to move forward. We will do what we can every time.
Post-Secondary graduation/attendance verifications.
Most post-secondary institutions (UCLA, University of New Mexico, etc., use DegreeVerify. These records are generally still available, and we haven’t seen a dip in response time to verifying these higher degrees.
Where we do see a decline in response is when DegreeVerify needs to contact the actual institution to verify information. They are, by and large, closed which takes us back to “we will update the report as soon as the information is presented to us.”
It has always been our policy — no, more than a policy — a mission to get the information to our clients quickly, accurately and economically. We will continue to do to the very best of our ability, even in—especially in—these times of Covid-19. , , erotik film izle , gaziantep rus escort
